British wrestler Kris Travis dies aged 32 after losing battle with stomach cancer

A British wrestler who defied the odds by returning to the ring after being diagnosed with cancer has tragically passed away.

Kris Travis, from Sheffield, has died aged 32 after a difficult battle with the disease, and tributes have been pouring out from his friends and contemporaries in the industry. 

Fighting Spirit Magazine editor Brian Elliott confirmed the tragic news this morning.

In a touching blog post from PCW founder Steven Fludder - who promoted many of Travis' bouts against the likes of Finn Balor and Kevin Owens before they moved to WWE - described him as "a fighter to the end".

He wrote: "He was the best talent of recent years the UK produced that never ended up in the WWE. Illness aside I think that is exactly where he would be right now if in good health continuing his battles with Finn Balor in NXT.

We all miss you already Kris Travis, a fighter right until the end and always in good spirits even with a terminal illness. Both personally, professionally and as a fan and on behalf of myself and all at PCW we hope you're now in a better place and will remain in our thoughts, he wrote.
