Governor of Lagos visits family of late Braithwaite
Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode
of Lagos State has urged the younger generation to emulate the virtues
and philosophy of late nationalist and prominent lawyer , Dr Tunji Braithwaite.
Ambode
spoke on Wednesday when he paid a condolence visit to the wife and
family of late Braithwaite in Victoria Island, Lagos. The late lawyer
died in a Lagos hospital on Monday at the age of 82.
Gov. Ambode described his death as a major loss to the state and to the nation, recalling his indelible sides in legal issues. He said that Braithwaite was always on the side of the poor and the majority, irrespective of challenges and trepidations.
"This was what Dr Braithwaite believed in, he confessed, he preached and he fought for throughout his lifetime.
"In politics, his message was consistent, constant and always a thoroughbred," he said.
Responding
on behalf of the family, the daughter of the deceased, Dr Omowunmi
Braithwaite, thanked the state governor for the visit. She described her father as a man of values who was forthright and fearless.
