Nausheen Rahman, 28, has been charged with murder for allegedly dumping newborn baby into the trash

A Staten Island woman was charged with murder for allegedly dumping her newborn baby girl in the trash. Nausheen Rahman, 28, was initially charged with concealment of a human corpse before the body of the dead newborn baby was found outside her condominium around 11.30am on Saturday. She was charged with second-degree murder after a medical examiner determined that the baby was alive before it was thrown in the trash, according to NBC 4.  

The New York Police Department said officers responded to a 911 call at a home on Richmond Hill Road in the New Springville neighborhood.The condominium is just a few blocks from the Staten Island Mall. Police found the newborn baby unconscious and unresponsive. Emergency crews pronounced the child dead at the scene. Rahman went to Staten Island University Hospital Friday evening and told staff that she was bleeding as a result of giving birth, police said. The hospital had no record of her birth and she explained that the infant was born at home and that she had disposed of it, according to NBC 4.
