Two arrested after baby is left in car so mum can audition as dancer at a STRIP CLUB

A MUM and her friend are now facing charges after her nine-month-old baby was found in a parked car outside a Nashville strip club in sweltering heat. Cops say the tot was found alone and drenched in sweat outside the Déjà Vu strip club in the late afternoon on Thursday in Tennessee.

The mother’s friend, Summer Taylor, admitted she had been tasked with watching the child while her mum was on stage stripping in an audition. Taylor insisted she had regularly gone outside to check on the baby, but witnesses say she never left. Two onlookers told cops how both women had been inside the strip club for at least 30 minutes before officers arrived.
Police have since revealed the child was wearing a medium-to-heavy coat when they rescued her. Deja vu showgirls gentlemen's club in Nashville TN. And according to the affidavit, all of the car’s windows were rolled up. At the time of the shocking incident, temperatures outside were 21C, though police have since estimated temperatures in the car may have reached up to 38C. The baby girl was immediately rushed to the hospital, and is currently in the care of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services.

Local cops say the child’s mother, Kelsey McMurtry, lied about her name, and already had an outstanding warrant to her name. In an interview with WSMV, Vanderbilt Paediatric Trauma Injury Prevention manager Purnima Unni said most parents don’t mean to harm their children: “Parents don’t really realise that the inside of the car is like a greenhouse, so it gets exceedingly hot exceedingly quickly.

There is no time that is an acceptable time for a child to be left alone in a car. It’s as simple as that,” Unni insisted. “The child’s body temperature rises three to five times faster and higher than an adult. “So at 40C, you find the internal organs of the child begin to shut down. And when it’s 41C degrees, we can see near death.”
